Homemade Enchilada Sauce

Why buy enchilada sauce when you can make it! Of course store bought is fine if you don't have the time, but this is just SO easy to make why not try it before you make my Stacked Enchiladas!

Let's get started!

2 Tbsp oil (vegetable, olive, etc.)

2 Tbsp all-purpose flour

1/4 cup chili powder

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp ground cumin

1/4 tsp dried oregano

2 cups chicken or vegetable stock

Sea Salt, to taste

- Heat olive oil in small sauce pan over medium-high heat.

- Add flour and whisk for 1 minute.

- Add all other spices and whisk until fragrant and all mixed together.

- Turn heat down and slowly add stock while stirring.

- Allow to simmer on low until thickened. Then, either use or store in a mason jar in the refrigerator.
