As you know, I just love to organize! I LOVE how this turned out and I'm excited to show you how easy it is to organize under the kitchen sink on a budget!
Here is the before picture, well two of them since I was so excited I forgot to take a picture when I first opened the cabinet. My little helper was there too!
First, you want to just take everything out. I went through everything and threw away anything that was old. Then, I combined things that were similar, or almost out to free up space.
Next, I would suggest installing a side bottle hanging area. My husband did this years ago, but that was it. It's a simple piece of wood that you can drill into the wall and then a bar to hang bottles. That gets them up off of the floor. I put the ones I use daily or most often towards the front and the others towards the back.
Next, I took time to wipe the floor clean. We updated our kitchen about 8 years ago and so the cabinets are still fairly new. It was super easy to clean.
Next, I decided to lay some drawer liner contact paper on the bottom to just look nicer.
If you have never used contact paper, it's like a giant sticker. You measure the space you need and then cut it. Then, you slowly start to peel back the sticker and lay it down on the edges. As you pull back the paper, use your hand to smooth it out and keep it straight. Voila, you're done!
Another way to help organize things is just a small nail or hook on the inside of the door. That's how I hang my duster.
Next, I started to put things back in based on how often I use them. So, the upholstery cleaning liquid goes in the back. I only use this every few months. The dishwasher tabs go right in the front! I also bought a couple of small plastic storage tubs from The Dollar Store to keep smaller items organized, such as sponges and the dishwasher tabs.
I'm so happy with how it turned out. It looks great, I can see everything I have and the smaller items aren't all over the bottom of the cabinet.
